Wake up call by a 4 year old

Our twins are getting much better at giving us a tiny bit of time in the morning. They get themselves out of bed, use the bathroom, and even play in the living room for a bit on their own (after yelling, “Alexa, good morning!” To turn on the lights and start NPR. They can’t miss Morning Edition).

Usually, either Marisa or myself (mostly Marisa) will get up to deal with them shortly after we hear them. Today we both were sound asleep when a little voice said, very loudly, next to the bed:

“What is this woman?!”

I don’t recommend it.

Declan was standing next to our bed with a Lego minifig. After we were both startled awake he left with his minifig and his unanswered question.
