People were way more connected to each other. There wasn’t a whole lot of anonymity because anyone could look up your WHOIS information and see who a blog actually belonged to. Trolls were simply banned from your comment section, never to be heard from again.
As someone who has had a blog for a long time I can assure you that people remain the same. Blogging just has a slightly higher learning curve than tweeting and people are lazy so they mostly don’t do it.
People who are slightly less lazy would leave comments. And you know what we do with those? That’s right, we don’t read them.
Anyway, people should blog more! I feel like I’m shouting into the void here until I remember that this blog really has an audience of one: future me.
