I’m no longer the most pathetic blogger on the ‘net

OK, so I don’t think I’m that pathetic, this dude has that on lock down. However, if it works you may see my lovely face on a billboard soon (ok, you won’t ever see my face on a billboard unless it is advertising a special issue of a magazine profiling the sexiest bachelors in PA).

However, here’s a tip from your Uncle Scott, the ladies don’t want to date a guy who refers to himself as a ‘dud.’ Am I right people?

UPDATE: OK, with the most recent post on his website I’m assuming (and hoping) that this is all a joke.

  1. Charleston man blogging for dates?

Drew Collins points out that he’s seen this billboard all over the Charleston area. He and others have gone to the site listed on the billboards, date4dud.com, and discovered that it appears to be a legitimate site, although many commenting…

  2. You know, the more I look at that billboard picture, the more it looks photoshopped to me. The lighting is just far too even, even for a flat billboard. There’s too little contrast. Those tiny little icons on the bottom right that couldn’t be read while driving.
    Hmmmm!
    PS, Dang, Glenn, you’re right!

  3. Am I right people?
Quite right. However, this guys already tried all the “standard” approaches. He’s willing to try anything.

  4. Billboard, blog confirmed as marketing ploy

As most people suspected, “Walter” of date4dud.com isn’t the desperate comic book-loving, karaoke -singing computer programmer that the original billboard made him out to be. Here’s the updated billboard, per this post: Here’s the schlock written on th…

  7. Hooray for that Jeff guy, who pings more than I do!
Scott, if it’s just a joke, all the better. Sense of humor ranks high on The Ladies wishlist.

  8. You know, Becky, I hear that fairly often (the sense of humor thing). I like to think I have a good sense of humor, though I am lady less. Odd.
And I think the blog (Date4dud) is some company’s marketing trick.

  9. Sorry for all the extra pings. Typepad blogs seem to do that alot when I link to them.
As my post pinged above indicates – it was a hair clinic ad.

  10. Jeff, I was kidding about the pings. I do that all the time–Typepad doesn’t always clear out your previous ping info when you go back to edit a post, so you end up pinging people to death. It’s so embarrasing!
Scott, you do have a good sense of humor, but some of your jokes are only for smart Ladies. Which is a good filtering mechanism, when you think about it.

  11. Becky, I suppose you’re right. Though many of the things I find humorous are just down right silly.
I have accepted the fact that I am doing to die alone, but laughing. 😉
