Julie was kind enough to invite me to come along and experience the Mummers Parade 2005, and experience it I did!
Now, if you aren't familiar with the Mummers you can read up about them here; basically it is an excuse for grown men to dress up in sequins and feathers and prance around in the street.
We had quite the crew there, in addition to a small riser, enough food to few a small army, and several digital cameras.
As usual I found myself separated from the bulk of our group, so I couldn't socialize that much, but I did get a lot of great pictures, and isn't that what life is all about?
It was an unseasonably warm January day in Philadelphia, and as such lots of people were out to see the Mummers, and luckily for me I live less than 3 blocks from where the bands played, so I could walk home afterwards. I love living in Center City.
Overall the parade was fun, if a little long. After you see a few of the Mummers you have basically seen them all, but with that said I will be at the parade next year.
Say hi to me if you see me!
